These are artists who have found gospel music in which they subject Gospel Grime a life changing experience which allows them to stand out more than their peers. This music also revolves around Gospel R'n'B.

Here are music videos of gospel UK adults who are within my target audience.

For my music magazine I have chosen my genre to be Gospel R’n’B. this is a genre that is not really explored in our generation today, I wanted to challenge myself and start developing ideas in which my target audience (16 – 25 year olds) would be interested in.

I also chose this genre because I felt that more UK gospel artists within my target market are now beginning to reveal their music to attract younger people as there is a gap in the target market for the genre of gospel.
I have changed the genre of urban gospel to Gospel R’n’B as I feel that the word R’n’B will appeal to my target audience because it is a genre that everyone is common with.

Gospel R’n’B (Rhythm and Blues) is a genre that expands on faith (Christianity) that artists use to attract a certain target market leading them to GOD and producing music that does not only have to be praise and worship, but a message can be produced in thankfulness within rap, singing, poetry, and beats.
Gospel music can be variated in different parts, although gospel music is a genre there are many genres within the title of Gospel. Gospel portrays faith in God in which artists like to express themselves in emotions, beats, what they like, and what they think will appeal to an audience that will buy their music.

There are no right and wrongs within the industry of gospel music, looking at different headings in what artists call there music i have realised that they all do not base their music on one section of the genre but they expand it in different ways. Have you ever heard of Gospel Indie? well i have not but i do not doubt that there will be one soon (genre). Against the word Gospel these titles are just styles in which the artist produce their music, whether its rap, singing, poetry it does not really matter as long as the faith is still there, also what style of music the artist is comfortable with the will still demonstrate their love for God and still appeal to their target audience.

Here below are a list of some of the gospel music headings and there definitions.

This is my target audience moodboard. My target market is 14-25 year olds who are christians and are motivated by music. i have picked a range of artists that i am familliare with, and have seen them in many youth Gospel events. these are atists that are within the age of my target market.

I have selected these artists for this mood board to show the gap within target market range. A lot of these artists have been around for a long time and are issued under the genre of Urban Gospel. Although these artists have been around along time some of their music adapts to our generation right now, to give off a more upbeat rhythm so the youths of today can be more devoted to God.
Even though these artist produce some of their music for youths not many teens and young adults are attracted to all their music as they would be stereotyped as old people that do not know what is going on in the world with youths today, or they may seem too soulful for them. As these are famous American Gospel artists alot of youths in the UK are restricted to the artists that produce Gospel music as there are no signs of young artist producing Gospel music.

This is the reader profile of NME, a music magazine with a dominated audience of males which shows a higher percentage then females that read this magazine.
This readers profile is based on what the target audience are interested in within the media of music.

Here are a range of magazine contents pages in which i annotated looking at what features were used for these contents pages, how consistent the contents pages were in use of color, and letting the readers know that the contents pages belonged to a certain magazine.

I realised that each of these contents pages used a limited amount of color for their layout, text, image, and numbers within the features of the magazine.

The front covers of the magazine in which some of the contents page shows an image of the front cover at the top keeping it consistent.

Annotations of music magazines contents page

Looking at each of these four magazines separately i annotated each one of them looking at denotation and connotation picking out what i thought the magazine front show that appeals to their target audience.
Difference and similarities of front covers NME and RWD (Rewind).

these are the front covers of NME and RWD.

I annotated these front covers looking at differences and similarities between these four magazines.

Within the title of differences and similarities i looked at the colors used for these magazines, text, genre, target audience, and how these magazines have made their front covers eye catching with the artists and featured artists.

For this NME mood board i have selected a number of their front covers to show different variations in the artists that NME chose for the front cover of their magazines.
The genre that NME portray is rock music as many of these artist attract a male dominated audience.
